About Lisa Diener | About Our Board of Directors
Domestic violence affects all of us. One in three women will suffer acts of violence during their lifetime. We each encounter victims and survivors countless times while going about our daily routines.
The Lisa Diener Domestic Violence Foundation was formed by family and many close friends of Lisa Diener, following her tragic passing in 2010. The founders are passionate about advancing Lisa’s commitment to empower victims of domestic violence by raising funds to benefit organizations or shelters that support victims of domestic violence.
Each year the Steering Committee will select one organization or shelter that embodies Lisa’s vision and voice to be the sole focus for the fundraising efforts for that year. Our large fundraiser occurs in March or April every year, in honor of Lisa’s birthday and life.
Since 2010, the Foundation has donated close to $180,000 to benefit Domestic Violence Programs in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Kentucky in addition to other volunteer and support efforts.
“Amidst an environment that was filled with poor morale and negative attitudes, Lisa was a fierce advocate for her clients. She saw resilience in those who most would consider helpless and worked tirelessly to empower women not only to see their potential but to act on it in a way that would give their lives dignity and meaning.”
